Ellen Audet is a past President of the Gainesville, FL chapter, and a member of the Professional Nurses & Allied Health Council. She is a former recreational therapist who, after 15 years in that role, became a nurse and then a nursing teacher so she could advance her health advocacy. She has actively advocated for healthcare parity, women's health issues, children's issues, and human rights. As the mother of a lung transplant recipient with cystic fibrosis, she has a special place in her heart for people with cystic fibrosis and organ transplant recipients. As a nurse educator and patient advocate who recently went to Israel for the first time, she was particularly impressed by the work at Hadassah Organization, reinforcing her belief that we can indeed heal the world.
