Dr. Karen Ezrine, of Naples, Florida is the Chair of Hadassah International.  She most recently was the Vice Chair of Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO). In Baltimore, Karen worked closely with the health coordinator to develop a number of medical education programs (cardiovascular disease, mental health, and genetic diseases) and also co-chaired Major Gifts events. She was a member of the National Board of Hadassah. In Karen’s previous role as Co-Chair of the Hadassah National Physicians Council, her duties included planning and leading three Continuing Medical Education Programs in Israel and serving as the Hadassah representative for the Victor Center for Prevention of Genetic Diseases. In Collier County, Florida she has co-chaired or served on the committee of several Major Gifts and Keepers events and chaired a program on Jewish Genetic Diseases. Karen has been honored to Co-Chair Founders and currently is Vice-Chair of HMO. Karen earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, and M.D. from Jefferson Medical College. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, followed by a fellowship in Medical Oncology at the Baltimore Cancer Research Program (then a part of the National Cancer Institute). Dr. Ezrine was a Medical Officer for the Division of Disability Policy for the Social Security Administration, and a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland and the Veterans Affairs Hospital until her retirement in 2004. Her responsibilities at Social Security included serving on several inter-agency committees: HIV/AIDS, Women’s Health, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
