Ruth Ann Freedman
Dr. Ruth Ann Freedman of Highland Park, Illinois is the Vice Coordinator of the Philanthropy Divsion. She previously served as a National Vice President of Hadassah. Dr. Freedman serves on the Strategic Planning Core-Team and led the Strategic Planning Young Women’s Sub-Committee. Previously, she was the Midwest Area Region Resource Chair and past President of Hadassah Chicago Chapter. In her tenure as President, she completed the merger of two chapters, Chicago and North Shore, which became one region after 40 years of separation. As an active member of Hadassah Chicago Chapter since 1990, she has served as Hadassah Medical Organization Vice President, Leadership Education Training Vice President, Education Vice President, Area Vice President, HLA Liaison, Group Liaison, Great Plain Region Youth Commission member as well as many local committees. In her local community, Ruth Ann served in an educational capacity over the years. She has a doctorate in Reading and Language Education and recently retired as an Associate Professor of Elementary Education in the Teacher Preparation Unit at National-Louis University (NLU) for over 28 years. She is the co- author of Facilitating Interpersonal Relationships in the Classroom: The Relational Literacy Curriculum and various chapters in edited volumes.
