Moving into the Future:
Hadassah Dedicates New OR Complex
Sunday, Jan 10 2016
Dedicated in 2012, the soaring Sarah Wetsman Davidson Hospital Tower was Hadassah’s gift to the people of Israel on the occasion of its centennial. The 20-story inpatient facility has 500 beds and 60 Intensive Care Unit beds; the departments of cardiology, internal medicine, orthopedics, urology, and obstetrics and gynecology; intensive care and intermediate step down units; and five below-ground floors--where the 13-room OR complex is located--that are fortified against conventional, biological or chemical attacks. Healing gardens, an expansive resource room, innovative patient rooms equipped with fold-out beds for family members, and the most advanced monitoring and imaging systems in patient rooms help ease the hospital experience for those who are ill.
With stainless steel walls, atypically large rooms and rotating operating tables, the Tower OR complex is home to the most advanced surgical facilities in Israel and among the most advanced in the world. Opening Day was a time to celebrate! READ ABOUT IT ›
The dedication of the Operating Room complex was a celebration that welcomed Israeli Minister of Health Yaakov Litzman; Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat; and Ellen Hershkin, performing her first official duties as the new National President of Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America.
