JERUSALEM, ISRAEL— The Hadassah Medical Organization Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Erez Meltzer, 59, as Chairperson of the Board. He was selected from among top-tier candidates presented by Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, to the Government of Israel representatives and was approved by the Ministries of Health and Finance.
Meltzer is a successful business leader and a teaching professor of management and crisis intervention. Today he serves as the CEO of MIS dental implants, a company that markets its products in over sixty countries. His previous managerial experience includes heading the Africa-Israel Investments, and serving as president and CEO of Netafim, the renowned drip irrigation company, which he brought through a recovery period to double its sales from $200 million to $400 million annually. Before serving at Netafim, Meltzer was president and CEO of Creo Scitex, and was responsible for the merger of the two companies. He was the first CEO of the merged company, which had 4,000 employees and $700 million in sales.
He is an internationally recognized expert on global management and leadership. He teaches crisis management in the Executive MBA program at the Faculty of Medicine at the Tel- Aviv University, and also lectures at the IDC Herzliya and other universities. Meltzer studied mathematics, economics and business administration at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Boston University. He completed advanced business administration courses at Harvard University.
A married father of four and grandfather, Meltzer was born in the United States and educated in both America and Israel. He served as an officer in the IDF Armored Corps and has been recognized internationally for his social service.

As part of the new governance structure of HMO a search committee will soon start the process to identify a permanent Director General. In parallel a new Board of Directors will be put in place to begin in January 2015.
