October 3, 2019 - NEW YORK, NY – Margo Dix Gold has been named Managing Director, Hadassah Super South, according to Janice Weinman, Executive Director and CEO of Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA).    

Gold, who will be based in Atlanta, GA, will be responsible for the operations and management of Hadassah Super South which consists of the Southeast, Southern, and Southern Seaboard Regions of HWZOA including: Georgia; South Carolina; Tennessee; Alabama; Mississippi; Arkansas and portions of the Florida Panhandle, North Carolina and Virginia.  Gold will also provide guidance and strategic support to the staff and region volunteer leaders and work in conjunction with the Super South Region presidents to carry out and achieve their goals for the three regions building upon Hadassah’s national organizational priorities and mission.

Weinman states, “Margo Dix Gold brings a wealth of experience, expertise and a passion for HWZOA’s mission to support our two world-class hospitals in Jerusalem and to advocate for women’s health here in the U.S. to Hadassah’s Super South Region. She will work with leadership and membership in these three key regions to further HWZOA’s mission of women’s empowerment, Zionism and providing world-class medical care to the people of Israel.

Margo Gold formerly served as Director of Development and Communications for Georgia Appleseed Center for Law & Justice, a public interest law center.  Previously, she was Community Relations Director for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and was active in the national Jewish Council for Public Affairs.  

Gold is a respected professional leader and volunteer in an array of nonprofit and communal organizations.  Most recently, Gold served as International President of The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ), the network of 600 Conservative congregations across North America from 2015-2018.  She currently serves on the Va’ad of the USCJ Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center and is Vice President of Masorti Olami (World Council of Conservative Synagogues).  She served on the Boards of JTS, the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, MERCAZ USA, and on the Executive Council of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations.  She was a delegate to the 37th World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem in 2015.  She joined the United Synagogue Board in 2011 and Co-Chaired the USCJ Centennial in Baltimore in October 2013. 

She served as Vice President of the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta.  She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta (JFGA), the American Jewish Committee, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, and Georgia Appleseed, among many others, and chaired the JFGA Community Relations Committee. 

Gold is a lifetime member of Hadassah, as well as the National Council of Jewish Women and Jewish Women International and has been honored for her dedication to Israel and to the Jewish nonprofit world by Israel Bonds, City of Hope, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta Women’s Division. 

A native of Detroit, she holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s Degree from the University of Michigan. She and her husband, Larry Gold, have three children and five grandchildren.
