November 1, 2019 – NEW YORK, NY - A first-ever Magen David Adom (MDA) Emergency Ambulance Dispatch Center was dedicated on October 31 at Hadassah Medical Organization’s Ein Kerem campus. Hadassah’s MDA Dispatch Center will cut the time of arrival for patients living in the nearby, growing neighborhoods of Kiryat Hayovel and commuter towns like Mevasseret Zion and Tzur Hadassah. An MDA ambulance and crew are now stationed around-the-clock at the hospital for speedy response for adult and pediatric emergencies.

“This is another really important step in strengthening our bond with our partner, MDA,” said Professor Yoram Weiss, Director of Hadassah Ein Kerem. Weiss rode MDA ambulances once a week as a young anesthesiologist. “We’ve come a long way together and still have much to do together.” “The coordination with Hadassah is excellent on every level,” said MDA Jerusalem Regional Director Shlomo Petrover. “This cooperation is critical – after all we’re both in the business of saving lives every day.”

Senior Hadassah and MDA staffers praised each other’s professionalism at the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Dispatch Center which is located in the The Judy and Sidney Swartz Center for Emergency Medicine.
