August 23, 2019 – NEW YORK – Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA) National President Ellen Hershkin and CEO/Executive Director Janice Weinman today released the following statement:

“In today’s climate of partisan and political tensions, the U.S.-Israel relationship has and will continue to endure because of the links that bond the people of both nations – links forged by historical ties, shared values, deep friendships and a common destiny.  Maintaining support for Israel as a nonpartisan American value is essential to the safety and security of Jewish peoplehood and the State of Israel, both of which are undermined by the growing acceptance of anti-Israel and antiSemitic ideologies.  Pitting people and parties against one another will sacrifice the goal of respect for diversity and coexistence.  Hadassah is committed to the bedrock values of our two nations and urges our leaders to end the politicization of this essential relationship.”

Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA) is the largest Jewish women’s organization in the United States.  With 300,000 members, Associates and supporters Hadassah brings Jewish women together to effect change and advocate on critical issues such as medical care and research and women's empowerment.  Through the Hadassah Medical Organization's (HMO) two hospitals, the world-renowned trauma center and the leading research facility in Jerusalem, Hadassah supports the delivery of exemplary patient care to over a million people every year.  HMO serves without regard to race, religion or nationality and earned a Nobel Peace Prize nomination in 2005 for building “bridges to peace” through equality in medical treatment.  For more information, visit my.hadassah.org.
