September 19, 2019 – NEW YORK – Hadassah, The Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. (HWZOA), announced today that the Never Again Education Act (H.R. 943), which now has 280 cosponsors, now includes Nevada and Connecticut in the list of states whose representatives in the House unanimously support this important and urgent legislation. With more than 3 million residents each, Nevada and Connecticut are the most populous states to have all of their representatives signed as cosponsors.

The House bill, which would help combat rising anti-Semitism and extremism by expanding and encouraging Holocaust education and its lessons, is presently supported by every representative from Alaska, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wyoming and the District of Columbia.

“Hadassah is thrilled that representatives of more than 190 million Americans have signed on to cosponsor the Never Again Education Act. We thank each and every one of them for recognizing the importance of combating anti-Semitism and supporting Holocaust education for students nationwide,” said Hadassah National President Ellen Hershkin. “We are grateful to the army of Hadassah members across the country for their tireless advocacy efforts in building bipartisan support for this critical piece of legislation.”

“Holocaust education can help to combat anti-Semitism and rising extremism, bigotry and hatred,” Hershkin continued. “The Never Again Education Act remains a top priority for Hadassah and we will keep aggressively advocating for its passage to ensure that comprehensive Holocaust education is made available to every public and private middle and high school in the country.”
