Martin Luther King Jr: A Friend of Israel
Yesterday, we honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, a man who spent his life standing up for justice and equality, mobilizing others. A man who was also a staunch Zionist. Dr. King once said "I see Israel as one of the great outposts of democracy in the world, and a marvelous example of what can be done, how desert land can be transformed into an oasis of brotherhood and democracy.” At Hadassah, we believe in the power of advocacy to create change and the power of women who advocate. This February, turn your passion for Zionism and women’s rights into action by joining Hadassah’s Day in the District Program. Form a lasting relationship with your federal legislator to advocate for issues that matter to you.
Say NO to Human Trafficking
January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. There are an estimated 20.9 million survivors of human trafficking worldwide, with hundreds of thousands here in the United States. Under the umbrella of the Jewish Coalition Against Trafficking, Hadassah has joined forces with others to create "Ending Human Trafficking: A Jewish Statement of Values," endorsed by 17 Jewish organizations. Take a moment to speak out against human trafficking, and let your Representatives and Senators know where you stand.
