Advocacy Update - March 13th

Holocaust Survivors Need You
Hurry! Urge your Representatives to cosponsor and support the Holocaust Survivors Assistance Program in Fiscal Year 2019. This important bill will allow providers of community-based health and support services to better understand and address the unique needs of our country’s aging Holocaust survivor population and make sure they get the best care possible. Time is running out! We have until close of business on Wednesday, March 14 to get as many cosponsors as possible.

Stop School Violence: Congress Votes This week
Raising your voices has brought gun control to the attention of our lawmakers. The STOP (Students, Teachers, and Officers Preventing) School Violence Act of 2018 is scheduled for a vote this week.  Ask your legislator to support grants to states for school violence prevention training. These trainings would help schools address identifying people at risk of committing violence, improve coordination between schools and local law enforcement, and create school threat assessment and intervention teams.
