Take Action for National Family Caregivers Month
Caregiving is finding its way into our national conversation – from the budget to tax reform. We are encouraged to see leaders from across the political spectrum speaking out about caregiver support, parental leave, and affordable childcare. Now we need your help to keep this momentum going!

The bipartisan RAISE Family Caregivers Act recently passed the Senate and is under consideration in the House. Take action for National Family Caregivers Month by advocating for the RAISE Family Caregivers Act and paid family and medical leave.

Stand Up to Anti-Zionism
November 10 marks the egregious 1975 United Nations General Assembly Resolution that equated Zionism with racism. Though it was rescinded in 1991, anti-Israel and anti-Zionist rhetoric is still pervasive at the UN and beyond. The UN Human Rights Council has begun to distribute a blacklist of over 150 companies that do business with Israel including Caterpillar, Coca-Cola, and Airbnb. This not only harms Israel’s economy, it undermines its legitimacy and standing in the international arena. Make your voice heard by writing to your legislators and urge them to cosponsor and support the Israel Anti-Boycott Act. This important act would penalize those who refuse to do business with or buy products from Israel.

Common-Sense Gun Safety
Every time there is a mass shooting, the urgency for common-sense gun control legislation resurfaces. We are mourning the violence in Sutherland Springs, just weeks after the carnage in Las Vegas. Congress must enact legislation that addresses background checks, access to the most dangerous weapons and ammunition, waiting periods, volume sales, and the issue of mental health.

Thanks to a barrage of phone calls and letters, the Sportmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act did not reach a vote in the House, but there is still work to be done. Speak out against the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, which would force states to recognize the weakest concealed carry standards, stripping states of their right determine how to best protect their citizens.
