On Wednesday, October 22, a car driven by a Palestinian terrorist sped into a light rail station in Jerusalem. The attack injured nine and sent six, including one infant, to Hadassah's hospital. Four of the victims have been released. Two tragically died of the wounds.

Chaya Zissel Braun, a 3-month-old baby girl, who was American citizen, died from injuries after having been thrown from her stroller.

"You were pure," her father Schmuel Elimelech, said at her funeral, according to YNet News. "I want you to look down at me and smile. Tomorrow is your three-months birthday. It's all now in God's hands. We will remember you."

Karen Yemima Muskara, a 22-year-old student from Ecuador, died on Sunday the 26. Muskara came from a family that traces its origins back to the Marranos—15th century Jews of Spain and Portugal who were forced to convert; 500 years after her ancestors faced persecution, she came from Ecuador to Jerusalem to regain her Judaism.

"Five hundred years ago her ancestors had to pretend they weren't Jewish," said her relative Sabrina Schneider. "Here she was working hard to learn Torah and to prove that she had come back to being a Jew. She had to come back to Jerusalem to complete her family saga."

She was buried on the Mount of Olives Sunday night.

“This situation can’t continue. We can’t let the innocent who only wanted peace to be harmed,” Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat stated during the funeral procession, according to Jerusalem Online. “We will subdue the agents of death and restore peace and security to Jerusalem.”
