Classical Pianist and Cancer Survivor Overcomes Yet Another Obstacle

Tuesday, Jun 12 2018

Cancer survivor Michael Pasikov

After keeping his promise to perform 100 concerts for charity if he survived his cancer, Michael Pasikov, Hadassah Medical Organization patient, cancer survivor, and pianist, lost the use of his right hand.

It was over a year following his recovery from cancer that one night, Mr. Pasikov suddenly fainted in his home and landed on his right hand. Although he recovered from this fall, which had left him unconscious for days, he was unable to use his right hand. Never one to give up, he taught himself to play piano one-handed. He rewrote famous classical compositions so they could be played with one hand and began to give concerts again.

To hear the story of Mr. Pasikov’s life journey, listen to the podcast “FromTheGrapevine.com” or read the full transcript.

Listen to Mr. Pasikov play with only his left hand.
