Corporal Lihi visits soldier Dikla Megidish in the Intensive Care Unit.

Soldier Dikla Megidish was visited in the Hadassah Ein Kerem Intensive Care Unit by her friend and fellow soldier Corporal Lihi.  Dikla, 19, had been stabbed in the upper body and throat by Ibrahim Mu’taz Zawiya, 21, from the Azariya suburb of Jerusalem. Then the assailant ran towards Corporal Lihi, who shot him. A suspected accomplice was also apprehended.

Dikla was attacked north of Jerusalem and rushed to Hadassah Mount Scopus. She was critically wounded. Once stabilized, she was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem, where neurosurgeon Prof. José Cohen took over her treatment. Today, she is breathing on her own.

Lihi, a combatant in the Home Front Command’s Kedem Search and Rescue Battalion, said, “I was near Dikla when she was brutally stabbed. I’m so happy to see her awake and smiling. I have full confidence that Dikla will heal quickly and return soon to our company.”
