A Note From Hadassah National President Ellen Hershkin
With so much news focusing on anti-Semitism in the past few weeks, we wanted to update you on our advocacy team’s day-to-day work, and the proactive role we are taking to combat anti-Semitism and prejudice in America.
Our advocacy team is walking the halls of Congress, making phone calls and meeting with Congressional Representatives from across the political aisle to educate our elected officials on the rise of anti-Semitism, the dangers of Holocaust denial and the importance of Holocaust and anti-hate education. By making members of Congress aware of the issues that affect our communities, we are taking a pro-active role to not only change the discourse in Washington, but to influence public discourse throughout the country. We want to ensure that our children and grandchildren have the opportunity to grow up in a world free from hate and prejudice.
Our efforts are creating tangible results, but we need your help.
We’ve been able to secure bipartisan support for the Never Again Education Act, a Bill that will expand Holocaust and anti-hate education to students nationwide. We ask you to join us in this effort by calling your national legislators and asking them to cosponsor and support the Never Again Education Act. You can find their phone numbers and also write to your officials by using Hadassah’s National Action Center. Hadassah’s greatest asset is our diverse and committed membership. We invite you to join our efforts to ensure a world free from hate.
