This past summer, 22-year-old Kimberly Winkler suffered a massive brain aneurysm while on a trip in Israel. Hadassah Medical Organization specialists saved her life and now she is recovering well in her native Dominican Republic.
An industrial engineering student at the University of Minnesota, Kimberly underwent several brain operations at Hadassah to alleviate the hemorrhage that endangered her life. “Her Cat scans were so bad that everyone was surprised that she was still alive,” relates Senior Neurosurgeon Prof. José Cohen.
With her rehabilitation progressing nicely, Kimberly is able to walk and talk and eat using utensils with both her hands.
Hear her miraculous story of survival from her Hadassah doctors and parents.
