Share Our New Policy Statements

Wednesday, Jan 23 2019

Last week, at Hadassah's National Assembly Meeting, the National Board voted to enhance our Combating Anti-Semitism policy statement and expand support for women's health with a new Maternal Health statement. Policy statements represent the organization's official stance on a wide variety of issues.

In light of rising anti-Semitism at home and abroad, the expanded Combating Anti-Semitism statement includes more details about the need for Holocaust and anti-hate education and calls on all governments and religious leaders to denounce anti-Semitic rhetoric, threats, propaganda and attacks. Reaffirming and expanding on Hadassah's support for women’s health, the Maternal Health statement highlights the exemplary maternal and fertility care at Hadassah Medical Organization and advocates for US policies to promote research, improve maternal health outcomes, and increase access to fertility treatment.

Urge Congress to Strengthen the US-Israel Relationship and Stand Against BDS

On January 3, the Strengthening America's Security in the Middle East Act of 2019 (S.1) was introduced in the Senate. If passed, the bill would reauthorize foreign military financing to Israel through fiscal year 2028, allow a state or local government to divest its assets from entities employing boycotts, divestments, or sanctions against Israel and more. Urge your Senators to cosponsor and support this important legislation today!
