Hadassah Brooklyn began in 1921. We provide programs of interest all over the borough of Brooklyn, at all times of the day and evening, every day of the week, every month of the year. We are comprised of all denominations of Jewish observance. Region events observe the laws of kashrut and respect Shabbat.
360 Degrees of Healing
Hadassah Medical Organization, founded by Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, Inc. has defined health care in Israel. It’s about compassion. It’s about healing. It’s about life.
Hadassah is the founder of Israel’s modern health-care system and has been tireless in maintaining the highest standards for more than 100 years. Since 1960, the population of Jerusalem has tripled, and the demands on the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) and Hadassah Hospital at the Ein Kerem campus have grown exponentially. Hadassah must respond—and we must look forward. So HMO begins, first by completely reimagining the iconic Round Building, the hospital’s original inpatient center at Ein Kerem. With this renovation and expansion, the new Round Building will be an important healing center for Israel. It will significantly advance the services in its outpatient surgery, maternity, oncology, and dermatology departments.
From our President
Dear Hadassah Sisters, Associates and Friends,
Now that we are zooming we are reaching out to our members across the city and country.
Going along with the "new normal" I have to give Hadassah credit. They have adjusted quickly and we are zooming everywhere. If you are having difficulty logging on ask a ten year old to help you with the technology. You will be amazed at how much they know about this virtual world.
Hadassah is zooming all events and programs which are very exciting. Please check out the Hadassah website to see all programs that you may be interested in. There is a wide range of activities.
Hadassah Brooklyn zoomed the Liz Fox event on June 29th, and we had listeners from all over the country. Liz is from Colorado and she and her husband, Sid, narrated live from Colorado to New York.
It was a huge success. We should remember that chapters in remote areas can participate in everything across the country.
On August 19th we had a fabulous event with author, Joe Gosler, hosted by, Marcia Weller, on The Impact of WWII on a Hidden Child. Everyone that attended had a very informative experience.
Thanks to Marcia for putting this together and of course to Joe Gosler for sharing his story.
We are looking forward to our Champagne Brunch on Sunday, October 25. The details are being worked on at this time.
I would like to mention the historic agreement between Israel and the UAE. We are finally being recognized as a people of peace. This is a great step for Israel and the entire region. Kudos to the parties responsible for bringing this to fruition.
