From our President

Welcome to the Sequoia Chapter of Hadassah! Our chapter of approximately 1,300 members is situated right in the heart of California's Silicon Valley. We sponsor a wide variety of activities and events in accordance with Hadassah's goals of enhancing the health of people worldwide through support of medical care and research at the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem, empowering Hadassah members and supporters, as well as youth in Israel and the U.S. with opportunities for personal growth, education, advocacy and Jewish continuity.

In recent years, Sequoia chapter activities have included book clubs, conversations with local authors, classes on art and music with a Jewish emphasis, talks with business entrepreneurs, as well as small-group activities such as lunch and conversation at local restaurants - and let's not forget our annual Hanukkah party!

We have also worked with other Jewish community organizations on activities such as educating our community on Israel advocacy, and have worked with our sister chapters in the Central Pacific Coast Region to advocate in Sacramento on behalf of health, education and other issues of importance to women and the Jewish community. Our community of Hebrew-speaking members also organize Hebrew-language events and parties for the Sequoia Chapter's Israeli community.
