From our President

Renee Sidman DMR President 2020

This week I was proud to virtually attend the National Assembly meetings as your region president. There was a mind-boggling amount of information over two full days, and you can expect many exciting programs to rollout throughout the year. Hadassah's newly revised web site is up and running. Please check it out. Some initiatives to look out for including more collaboration with Hadassah International, Associates Week, updates from the new Donor Experience and Institutional Giving departments, Keepers of the Gate 25th Anniversary, national virtual programming, and more. The DMR philanthropy committee will be sending information soon on the Chapter Road Tile opportunity.

There is so much to look forward to in 2021, but I want to highlight two events today. Every Move Counts registration is open and many DMR members are already tracking their steps. Sign up and follow our progress at  www.hadassah.org/everymovecounts

I hope you are excited about Hadassah's first Global Virtual Event, A Celebration of Healing and of Hope on Sunday, February 21, 2021.  There is a star-studded line up of celebrities in addition to Tony Award-winning stars performing a musical number created especially for Hadassah and a live performance by the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.

This streamed gala will celebrate Hadassah’s work around the world through live interviews with doctors reunited with their patients and will offer a rare opportunity to see the effects of our contributions.  Each story is paired with a celebrity whose personal experience or relationship to Hadassah or Israel will come alive as they talk about or to each patient, bringing the stories to an even higher emotional level. What better way to be inspired by all that Hadassah does.

Shabbat Shalom,

Renee

Get Fit, One Minute At a Time

February 5, 2021 - April 7, 2021

Zoom link will be sent in response to registration

April 7, 6:30 pm Studies show that people spend 55% or more of their waking hours seated. People who sit more than six hours a day are 48%-94% likelier to die sooner than their counterparts who sit less than three hours a day. The simple solution? Micromovement. Micromovement incorporates simple, gentle, small ranges of motion you do for a minute at a time throughout the day (especially good for aging or sedentary bodies). Learn to partner with your body to boost vitality , increase immunity, and nurture yourself from the inside out. This is an exciting and realistic approach to help care for your body so you can live a happy, energized, and vibrant life. Dr. Juli Kramer currently teaches a wide variety of classes on healing your mind, body, and spirit, enabling you on your journey to a healthier and happier life. Check out Juli’s entire series of movement classes at www.radiantshenti.com. $15 Early Bird (register by March 1st), $18 after March 1st, $22 for non Hadassah members.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

Book Club September 28th

August 30, 2021 - September 29, 2021

Zoom!

September 28th at 12 pm Selection: The Midnight Library by Matt Haig Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Matt Haig's enchanting blockbuster novel, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life. Our Book Club is now meeting in-person for anyone who is interested in doing so. For more information please contact Lana Croft at soutnernnevada@hadasssah.org Those who are either out-of-town or prefer to join remotely, can still take part in our Zoom option using the information below.
