Hadassah Becomes a Home for a Family Torn Apart by a Terrorist Attack

Tuesday, Jul 5 2016

Over the weekend Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem became a second home for the Mark family. Rabbi Michael Mark, father to 10 and director-general of the Otniel Yeshiva, died after terrorists attacked his family's car WHERE on July 1.

His wife, Chava, and his daughter Tehila were rushed to the Trauma Unit at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem. The nine siblings stayed at Hadassah for Shabbat, praying for their sister and mother's lives.

Dr. Avi Rivkind, head of the Trauma Unit at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem, announced on July 2 that both mother and daughter were no longer at risk.

The next morning, July 3, the Mark siblings left Hadassah Hospital to bury their father, while their mother continues what is likely to be a long recovery.

Tehila was released from Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem on July 5 and will continue her recovery at home.

In the middle of this tragedy, Hadassah became more than a hospital. It became a home for the victims, who needed the extraordinary hands, minds and experiences of people like Prof. Rivkind.
