It's no longer enough to find a COVID-19 cure. Each day, we're discovering long-term complications for those who have recovered from the virus. And with millions of people infected worldwide, medical solutions are needed to treat COVID "after-effects," which can range from lung damage to mental health issues.
This is Dr. Neville Berkman's mission as the head of Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem’s new clinic, specifically designed for recovered COVID-19 patients with post-COVID complications. In Hadassah On Call’s latest episode, “Post-COVID Health Issues and Life After the Pandemic,” Dr. Berkman shares insights on the long-term effects of the virus with host Benyamin Cohen.
“It’s very important that the medical community [acknowledges] that there are a lot of disability issues related to patients who’ve had COVID,” says Dr. Berkman, adding, “we have to learn what to do with these patients.”
Listen to this can’t-miss Hadassah On Call episode, as Dr. Berkman shares the state of the virus in Israel, a vaccine update and what a post-COVID world might look like.
