Career and Family
I moved to Long Island when I married 51 years ago. My husband, Martin, and I have one daughter and two granddaughters. For 25 years, I taught reading skills to elementary and high school students.

Through AHRC, I have become a special friend to a mentally challenged woman for the last 22 years. Over the years, my special friend and I have gone to movies, shows and enjoyed her favorite pastime, dining in restaurants. Knowing the impact I have had on her, I arranged for our chapter to go to the group home for an evening of bagels and bingo providing prizes and gifts for all the women, as part of Hadassah's annual Mitzvah Day. I am on the Region education committee, and I plan an annual bus trip that always includes a Jewish place of interest.

How did you get involved with Hadassah
For many years, I was an active volunteer for a local symphony orchestra. When the orchestra folded, I decided to devote my time and energy to a Jewish organization.

What is it about Hadassah that resonates with you?
I chose Hadassah because its main focus is Israel and for its outstanding healthcare for the Israeli people and its amazing medical research that benefits the world.

I love to travel, play bridge, visit art museums, attend art, music, and history lectures and I am an avid reader.
